ABOUT US

"Defensive Kombat" is a Perth-based self-defence and tactical mix martial arts academy operating since early 2011. Our main focus is in teaching Krav Maga, which is broadly recognised as the most effective self-defence system in the world. We complement it with elements of boxing and kickboxing, kali, wing chun, Brazilian jiu jitsu, taekwondo and weapons training. We are conveniently located in Bayswater/Morley, with plenty of free parking available for students. We offer adult and children's group classes, personal training and corporate training.

We offer self-defence classes for adults and children. Adult classes run three times a week:

Tuesday 6 - 7.30 pm,

Thursday 6 - 7.30 pm,

Saturday 4 - 5.30 pm.

Children’s classes run twice a week, on weekdays before adult classes:

Tuesday 4.30 - 5.30 pm,

Thursday 4.30 - 5.30 pm.

Private training sessions are available Monday to Saturday at times that don’t overlap with group classes.

Free parking is available in the car park in front of the Academy.

CHILDREN'S CLASSES

Children’s classes are different from adults’. While warm ups and striking/kicking practice are similar to adults’, classes for children don’t cover defence from knife, gun and bottle/baton attacks. Instead, they cover response to bullying, “stranger - danger” drills, etc. There is also a conversational component where children are taught to recognise and respond to suspicious and dangerous behaviour from adults. A part of children’s training is devoted to active games to add fun to the process.

Children’s classes are suitable for children 5 - 13 years old.  When children reach 14 years of age, they are encouraged to move to adults’ classes and start learning adult self-defence content.

TRAINING IN ISRAEL

We organise regular trips to Israel where participants can undertake an extra training in krav maga with Dr. Itay Gil, participate in cultural program and learn about the region. These trips are announced several months in advance.

Participation in this training is voluntary and is not a part of our curriculum.

Our next trip to Israel is postponed due to regional instability. We will make further announcements in due course.
